FACTS
Ponca City Medical Center is part of the largest publicly traded for-profit healthcare system in the country, so we have many resources to utilize to become a great hospital.
Community Health Systems (PCMS’s owner), was ranked 3rd in the Mar. 16 issue of “Fortune” in the Health Care: Medical Facilities sector for the 2009 “World’s Most Admired Companies” list.
Latest patient satisfaction survey 73% of patients surveyed rated their overall hospital stay a 9 or a 10 (10 = the best possible).
Over $11 million investment in capital improvements has been made since 2006 and over $1 million has been budgeted for 2009.
Initiating a hospitalist program later this year.
Many specialists on staff for a community this size.
Community involvement includes being a major sponsor of local health-related events: Relay for Life, Heart Walk, March for Babies. Involved in Ponca City Area Chamber of Commerce and Ponca City Main Street activities and a strong supporter of Ponca City High School athletics.

ADVANCED TECHNOLOGY
Available in-house: MRI, 16-Slice CT, Digital Mammography, Cath Lab, Anterior Hip Table (first in state), Urology Table.
Expanding services will include an ultrasound and stereotactic-guided breast imaging system and breast MRI.
 
SERVICES
Dedicated Women’s Health Center, unique to North Central Oklahoma, offering comprehensive women’s health services including digital mammography, bone densitometry, ultrasound and a lab in an area designed for comfort and ease anxiety often caused by these types of medical exams.
The newest Emergency Department in Northern Oklahoma opened on July 22, 2008.
PCMC earned a score of 95 on Joint Commission national accreditation survey, for an organization-wide commitment to providing quality care on an ongoing basis.
Working to make Ponca City a healthier community, with two outreach programs that host monthly health-related seminars, Senior Circle and Healthy Woman, which recently sponsored a weight-loss competition with 750 participants. Other offerings include: smoking cessation classes, diabetes self-management classes, and childbirth classes.
We have a strong board, talented medical staff and dedicated employees, and we are actively recruiting ENT, vascular surgeon, community based primary care physicians, psychiatrist and an interventional cardiologist.
