An exciting record number of volunteers
is on our chamber committees this year. In fact, Ponca
City has a great volunteer base. Look at the large
number of yearly events we have and the various boards
on which our citizens serve. We are a community that
gives financially and with personal involvement! |

Held 28 Ribbon Cuttings in 2008. This
year, we have had 4 Ribbon Cuttings so far, with 2 more
scheduled. These represent new building construction,
remodeled businesses, and expansion of businesses or new
ownership. Remember, these are people who are investing
in Ponca City! |

Leadership Ponca City has had its 22nd year, helping
with our volunteer base and positively impacting the Community. |
|
|
Currently, 35 Chamber businesses
participate in a one-of-a-kind partnership linking
business with schools - the PIE Program. It is the only
program of its kind in the state benefiting school
children! |
|
|
Ponca City has the largest retail
promotion event in the states of Oklahoma and Kansas -
it is the Community Wide Holiday Giveaway! Last year, it
netted over 7 million dollars to the participating
merchants! |

|
The Shop Ponca First Campaign has been
taking place for many years, and has helped to keep
people shopping in Ponca City. This keeps sales tax
dollars consistent. |
|
|
The Chamber Buck Program has succeeded in
keeping dollars in Ponca City. In the past five years,
nearly $1 million dollars have been distributed in
Chamber Bucks to Ponca City Chamber businesses. |

An important part of Ponca City is how
well all of our leadership team works together!! The
Chamber/Tourism Office, City Hall, Economic Development,
School System, Healthcare Community, Main Street and
United Way comprise a well-coordinated team that works
together benefitting Ponca City. We have . . . no hidden
agendas . . . no egos . . . no ax to grind, we want this
city to grow and prosper! As citizens, we can be proud
of this team effort working toward our common good. The
name “Ponca City” is recognized around the state for
this teamwork!! |
