Dear Citizens of Ponca City
and the surrounding areas,
Operation Not Forgotten has taken over where Project
Hometown Spirit left off. We send care packages to all
military men and women with a Ponca City connection.
We are asking our community to join us in this effort. It costs
approximately $10.00 to send one package. Monetary donations are
always welcome. But if you would rather donate items for the
soldiers, here is a list of suggested items:
Individual snack items (cookies, crackers, chips, beef jerky,
tuna, hard candy, etc.), individual sized personal hygiene items
(soap, shampoo, toothbrushes, toothpaste, breath mints, lotions,
deodorant, feminine products, shaving cream, razors, etc.), AA
batteries, paper back books, stationery, ink pens, envelopes,
decks of cards, hand held games, individual or small packs of
Gatorade, coffee, tea, hot chocolate, packets of sugar, salt and
pepper, etc.
We have had sons deployed in Iraq, and they have told us how
important it is to get these packages. Mail time is the best
time when you're in a foreign country at war. We have received
several "thank you" notes from others as well. They use what
they can and share the rest with others who perhaps didn't get a
package that day. Soldiers from other towns across the country
have commented that Ponca City must be a pretty good town to do
this. It is very important to keep their morale up and know that
the citizens of the United States of American, whom they are
protecting, are supporting them. We are very proud of all our
military personnel everywhere and would appreciate your help.
Please remember them in your prayers and join us in Operation
Not Forgotten.
