Hutchins Memorial Auditorium

 

Dedicated to one of the pioneer leaders of Ponca City, the James S. Hutchins Memorial Auditorium is a multi-use facility located in War Memorial Park.

 

Hutchins Memorial Auditorium was built in 1962 from funds provided by Mrs. Edna Hutchins in memory of her late husband Mr. James S. Hutchins. The building was designed by John Duncan Forsyth and cost $775,000 for the benefit of the citizens of Ponca City.

The building has served the community with a multi-functional facility with a capacity of 1700. Every sort of event imaginable has taken place here. Private clubs, in service training, seminars, dances, concerts, sporting events, pageants, craft fairs, trade shows, banquets, school programs, auto and boat shows, city sponsored functions, and during emergencies has been prepared as a shelter and Emergency Services HQ.
