Cannon for R.R. Zimmerman around May 1926. Zimmerman was a personnel
director for
Marland Oil Company, a forerunner of Continental Oil Company.
The Spanish stucco architecture of the home features a roof fabricated
of metal to simulate red tiles. Servant's quarters were built in the
garage.

right on Overbrook, continue 1 block to 7th. Street. Cross 7th. Street
on Overbrook and continue to 5th Street. On your right-side is the Ponca
City High School).
The Ponca City High School was built in 1927 at a cost
of $312,097.80.
The modified Spanish atmosphere was designed by architects Smith and
Senter. When built, it was considered a modern high school containing an
auditorium, heating, and ventilation, a large library and individual
rooms for typing, music, math, chemistry lab, and home economics classes
as well as the usual classrooms. The steps of the school are of natural
stone and the cornices are of red Spanish tile. The land the school sits
on originally belonged to E.W. Marland.
